Men hate directions. It is what it is. I cannot tell you how many things we have bought and our pastors wife (that's my wife, for those not following) expected me to put it together. She knows I am not a mechanic, machinist, carpenter or whatever else. I wonder sometimes if God called me to preach because I cannot do much else. I know this. Yet...being a man...guess what I do when putting something together? You know, don't you? I pulled out the parts, the nuts and bolts, found my cheapo "one size fits all" screwdriver and went to work. I didn't care about the directions. I'm a man. It's in our genetic make-up to put a grill together without directions. How hard can it be? And yet, there they lay - nuts & bolts left over. They shouldn't be. But they are there. As a last resort...absolutely the last resort...I go dig through the garbage can (yes, I threw them away...I didn't need them) and find the directions. After nearly undoing everything I spent 2 hours working on, I got it right. Lesson learned...until next time.
